Yuyuantan Park is a beautiful urban park located in the Haidian District of Beijing. It is famous for its cherry blossoms in spring, which attract thousands of visitors each year.
The park features a large lake, walking paths, and various recreational facilities. It's a popular spot for picnics, boating, and outdoor activities, especially during the cherry blossom season in late March to early April.
Yuyuantan has a long history. It was called Diaoyutai during the Liao and Jin dynasties, got its name Yuyuantan in the Yuan dynasty, and had a royal palace built during the Qianlong period of the Qing dynasty. It was officially named Yuyuantan Park in 1960 and is now a National AAAA-level tourist attraction.
In addition to its natural beauty, Yuyuantan Park also has historical significance, with several pavilions and scenic spots that offer beautiful views of the lake and surrounding area. The park covers an area of 132.38 hectares and is home to a variety of plant and animal species.
Yuyuantan Park is best explored by following a route that takes you through the main scenic areas. Start at the South Gate, which is the main entrance to the park.
From the South Gate, follow the path to the Cherry Blossom Garden, which is the most popular area of the park, especially during spring when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom.
Continue along the lake to the West Bank, where you can enjoy views of the lake and surrounding area. You can also rent a boat to explore the lake or relax on the beach.
